Emily and Kevin ~ a wedding by Iowa wedding photographer Carisa Keeling
Posted on May 23, 2011
Well, wedding season is officially underway at Carisa Keeling Photography. What a fantastic way to start things off too, Kevin and Emily were a wonderful couple to work with and despite a little bit of rain and some down right chilly temperatures we had a fantastic time. Photographing this wedding was an wonderful experience, it was very obvious that these two are totally in love with each other. The love and support of their families and friends was something special to see as well. I had a bit of a hard time choosing my favorites for the blog, but these are the ones that made MY favorites list.
Be sure to check back often, as the wedding season is going to be a busy time and there will be lots of fabulous images to take a look at. If you know of someone getting married next year, be sure to have them check out the site…I am filling up dates quickly.
Enjoy!
Rain drops can be fun! Kevin, Emily and the entire wedding party were troopers…it was COLD when we were shooting these…not that you can tell to look at them
I really like the intimate feel of this image and I just had to use a black and white conversion that simulates the “feel” of film.
This moment was right after Kevin and Emily were introduced for the first time as husband and wife. I always like to capture the moments right after the couple exits the church as emotions are so high at that time.
We stopped into Olde Main Brewing Company for a little mini session to give the rain a chance to let up for a few minutes. This stairwell had such fantastic texture to it.
This image just had to be the finale to the post! Emily told me the story of these vintage pools balls. She was in an antique shop and someone told her about seeing something similar at a wedding. So she grabbed a set of pool balls that, while they don’t match each other…they do bear a constant reminder of the wedding date! What a fantastic idea. Thanks Kevin, for bringing the pool ball supports too! If you are getting married I challenge you to think of a cute prop that you can use in your images…if nothing else it provides fantastic entertainment and creative juice for your photographer!
Kevin and Emily, again thank you so much for having me involved in your big day! I wish you happiness and love to last a lifetime!

Meredith and Joe
Posted on November 23, 2009
Meredith and Joe had a fabulous wedding and I was fortunate enough to be their photographer for the day. Mitch Miller of M.D. Miller Photography in Omaha was my second shooter for the day and a couple of the images below are from him (you will see the notes). You will notice that some of the images below seem very similar. I was fussing around with them, and then couldn’t decide which version I liked better! I can be so indecisive at times

A vintage treatment I was trying out...

One of my absolute favorites! I love the movement of Meredith's dress and the beautiful fall colors.

A graceful dip, that almost ended in Meredith on the ground

This is why every wedding should have twinkle lights, they offer wonderful mood lighting.

My two little angels…
Posted on November 17, 2009
This may surprise you, taking pictures of children is something I love to do. It is fun, exciting and fulfilling. That is unless it is taking portraits of my own children. For some reason I have always struggled with getting images of my two little ones that I really love like I do the images I take of other peoples kiddos. Well, I decided to do a little photoshoot with the two of them this past weekend. I now have images that I truly love of these two wonderful, adorable, fabulous angels. Granted, the perfect image of the two of them TOGETHER still eludes me…but I hope you agree that these images are indeed precious. Enjoy!
