Little Aubrey turns 1~Ames Iowa Portrait Photographer

Posted on March 12, 2010

This is little Aubrey, isn’t she the cutest little thing.  She has the most amazing blue eyes!  Her mommy and daddy are former wedding clients of mine, and now I have gotten to take her portraits too.  I LOVE it when I get that type of opportunity.  I am really hoping to start doing more family and children’s portraits this year, and so far I am off to a decent start.  Keep your eyes peeled, because soon there will be newborn pictures to share!  I am planning two newborn shoots right now and I can’t wait.

Such a serious little one.

I really liked part of this series in black and white. There is just something about the simplicity of a black and white that really gets me.

Who knew feet could be so darn cute?

Isn't she just a precious little diva. And those blue eyes...just adorable.

Many of you know, I am a sucker for the vintage feel. Something old is new again.

Calling Class of 2011~Ames, Iowa Portrait Photographer

Posted on March 10, 2010

Class of 2011, now is the time to be thinking of your senior portraits.  At Carisa Keeling Photography a senior session is about more than just nice pictures.  It is about images that truly capture who you are at this important time in your life.  Here, your session will be planned around your likes and dislikes in things from clothes, backgrounds…even the locations.  I want your senior portrait session to be an experience that you remember.

This year I am going to be starting a CKP Senior Model VIP program.  This is going to be a very limited program with fabulous benefits.  For starters, my models get the VIP session complimentary.  That’s a value of $200.  Models also get the chance to earn product credit to be used towards prints, canvases or even graduation announcements.  Like I said though, this program is going to be exclusive.  Please contact me today if you are interested as spots are sure to fill up quickly.

Ames Wedding Photography~Erica and Jon…engaged!

Posted on February 18, 2010

Erica and Jon are brave souls…I suppose they have to be as they are both members of the Iowa National Guard.  They were great sports toughing it out in the cold and snowy conditions that we had to deal with for their engagement session.  The results are fabulous though!  I can’t wait to shoot their wedding, which is just around the corner in May.  It will be here before I know it.  We are all just hoping that we don’t still have to wade through this much snow by then.

Des Moines Wedding Photography~Liz and Daryl…engaged!

Posted on February 18, 2010

Liz and Daryl weren’t sure they really wanted to do a studio engagement session, but they weren’t real sure they wanted to brave the frigid Iowa weather for the sake of their engagement session either.  So, we (ok, I) decided to shoot their session at the Jordan Creek Town Center Mall in Des Moines.  It took a little convincing…Liz was a bit nervous about shooting in the mall.  However, we got some great shots and had a lot of fun in the process.  We did get kicked out after about 40 minutes (I now know that I need to ask FIRST next time).  Daryl did a great job of pretending to be disappointed in the short session, LOL.  I hope you enjoy these engagement photos.  It was nice to try out some things a little different than the standard stuff.

A huge thank you to Liz and Daryl for putting up with me and my slightly crazy ideas!

Looking for senior models…

Posted on February 11, 2010

It is that time of year already!  Time to be thinking ahead to the upcoming senior portrait season.  If you are a current junior in high school and are looking for a central Iowa photographer to do your portait session please consider me.  I am currently looking for senior representatives for next season.  So what is a senior rep you might ask?  My senior reps are clients that get complimentary sessions (aka free stuff) for doing the session early so that I can use their images in marketing materials for next year.  In a sense, my senior reps are models :)

Please contact me today if you are interested in being a rep for next year.

My first blog post!

Posted on November 12, 2009

I have finally finished the blogsite…so today can be my first entry. There is a lot happening right now…the Holidays are creeping up on us quickly and orders are starting to come in. Be sure to get your holiday card orders in ASAP so that you have them in time to send out. If you haven’t had a session yet, contact me soon to set up a time and we can create some beautiful images…perfect for gift giving this holiday season.

I am looking forward to blogging little tidbits here and there about my images, my family and my life in general.  Not everything will be photography related, but it will be a way to get to know me a little and to see what inspires me to do what I do.
